The Original Mel's Diner - Fairfield

The food was enjoyable. However, the service could use some improvement, as it took a long time for my order to be taken and even longer for my drink to be refilled. The interior of the diner has a charming old-school vibe, and they played great music.

Update 5/19/2022: I tried the Steak Egg Breakfast Special, which was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the scrambled eggs were incredibly fluffy. My friend and I decided to visit Mel's today after attempting to go there on Valentine's Day. When we arrived at 8 am on Valentine's Day, the restaurant was closed, and no one was present, so we ended up at Black Bear Diner in Suisun instead. Today's experience at Mel's was mediocre compared to Black Bear Diner. While the prices were similar, the portion sizes at Mel's were smaller. However, the waitress was very friendly and made our breakfast experience quite pleasant at Mel's.

Wow, this place is a true gem! It's an authentic classic American diner! If you're ever in Fairfield, you absolutely have to stop by and eat here! They offer a Steak and Eggs special for just $12.99 from 6 AM to 11 AM, Monday through Friday. The shakes are delicious, and the food quality is excellent! Overall, I would give it a 5 out of 5!

I had a veggie burger that was delicious, accompanied by French fries. Everything I've tried at Mel's has been great. My friend ordered fish and chips and she said it was fantastic as well. I also love their breakfasts!

The food was tasty, but the restaurant itself was a bit dirty. I accidentally stepped on an avocado that was hidden under our table, and when I looked underneath, I noticed it was quite dirty—rather unappetizing. Additionally, I found the prices a bit high for just eggs and potatoes, but that might just reflect the current economic situation.
