Bidra med feedbackThe first thing you'll notice is the rancid smell coming from the side of the building, then The entrance has cobwebs, dead bugs, spiders and flies literally all over the door handle. We walked in and were told to go to the lounge where we were seated next to a window that had more dead flies, living flies and cobwebs. No air conditioning so we were roasting. The menu was minimal, we ordered drinks and my coke had 2 dead flies and a rainbow film ontop. My wife's ice tea was creamy and awful. We decided that after the awful smell coming from the building, the flies, spiders and cobwebs on the front door , the flies and cobwebs in the window sills , the lack of air conditioning and the 2 dead flies in my oily coke that it was time to leave and never ever go back.
Did not appreciate having to seat ourselves, and waiting 20 minutes, and no-one came to our table, not even to bring us water, the place was not even packed , empty tables throughout, and a very basic menu, poor quality of service, won't be back .
What a sad place! They are under construction, so I get it. There was next to no air-conditioning on a brutally hot day when our food finally arrived. After a very long wait, our orders were all wrong. The only positive was the waitress, she worked very hard to try to make things right.
They seriously have some of my all time favorites on the menu and they have some expanded pasta dishes. I have been a regular for years, and these guys get it right. Seafood is a staple for New Englanders and you have to know that you have to get it right to be so popular, fish and chips is one of my favorites. (tip: they use gluten free flour) They never disappoint here and it's always a pleasure to dine at this great little restaurant right on the Watuppa Pond. I have had some really good dishes like clam boils, Portuguese scrod, lobster boils, clam cakes, clam chowder, NY sirloin Mozambique, fried clams scallops, little necks over pasta, chicken marsala, lobster rolls, stuffed quahogs, fried calamari my very favorite Portuguese steak and like I said never been disappointed. Be sure to listen to the specials of the day they are usually great! Bottom line: This a clean vibrant restaurant with nice views and terrific staff with nice portions and reasonable prices, what's not to like? Highly recommended!!
We decided to try Lepage's once again since the last time was with the prior owners and there was nothing on the menu to make us return. We sat outside to enjoy the weather. They could really enhance the dining experience by making the patio more inviting, ie., attractive paint colors, more comfortable tables and chairs, get rid of the citronella candles and have the area sprayed if there's a bug issue after dark, etc. they're not taking advantage of the great view and outside space. The indoor dining could use some updates as well. It has a weird smell to it. We tried the Portuguese poutine and it was very tasflavorful! The fish sandwich was fresh and tasty. We also tried the special Portuguese scrod which was well worth the try. Very well done!! There is SO MUCH POTENTIAL to make this a great restaurant! Let's hope the new owners exploit its location and fresh food to make this spectacular! Looking forward to returning to see if the make any enhancements.
