Stubbington Fish Chips - Fareham

I ordered onion rings that were slippery and oily, the batter on the cod was also slippery and greasy, and the fries seemed like they were leftovers.

Man at the door was super friendly but then let down by the very rude and uncaring counter staff. They should not be in a customer facing role if they cannot be pleasant. Food was good but I shan't return as I cannot abide rudeness. Maybe some training would be beneficial in how to respond to your customers even if you are tired; had a bad day or just don't care

Appalling customer service. Having booked online to collect at 1800 my wife arrived at 1801, stood at the counter labelled online collections, and after 5 minutes asked the staff if she was in the right place to collect. When served the girl couldnt find our order. An extremely rude man who was cooking the food at the rear of the shop said all the 1800 orders had been collected. So ours had been given to someone else or the order had been lost. she was then told that if she wanted serving to go to the back of the queue, which by this time was out of the shop. we decided that we would spend our hard earned at another establishment. The food must be excellent( we will never know now) if this level of customer service is the norm. I wonder if he wishes to diversify there may be an opening as a hotel proprietor in Torquay.

Without doubt the best Fish Chips I have ever eaten! On average once a fortnight for many years! Order online for the speediest service and ease of use. I love the cod and the home made tartare sauce a match made in heaven! I enjoyed this so much last night I just may have it again tonight!! It’s the only meal I eat and enjoy so much I have to verbalise my joy at the taste with Mmmmm mmmm sounds and cannot contain my enthusiasm. Thank you to all the staff for providing the best experience of a Friday night, love to you all.

We, and friends and family from all over the UK agree that this is the best chip shop. Better than most fish and chips served in a pub or even restaurant.
