Bidra med feedbackAs a man from the west coast of Scotland , fish and chips shops are something I grew up on. It’s always been hard to find a good shop in land. But **** hell this was a real find. Light fluffy crispy batter, chips were delicious and cooked in fresh oil. Staff were superb. This is a hidden gem in the Fens. Highly recommend if passing by. 5/5 The address isn’t Chatteris tho , it’s 44 high street March PE15 9JR .
Unpalatable and uneatable. Both the kids and adults in our group could not finish the fish and chips (£17). The batter was too thick and dark brown, the fish was dry, and the chips were soggy. This was the worst fish and chips we have ever had, and it is unacceptable for a restaurant to serve this quality of food. Avoid this place at all costs.
Disappointed fish very dry and portions small compared to 2 other fish and chip shops we have tried in March. Younger member of staff friendly older one not so friendly.
The customer service at this restaurant is fantastic, the food is amazing, and the staff is both polite and friendly. The women working there are pleasant to converse with, and the owner, Stott, is terrific. I particularly enjoy the fish cakes, chips, and pies. Thank you to everyone at the restaurant.
Just visited my husbands family who all still live in March. We visited Stotts Fish Restaurant last Wednesday. The two girls working were absolutely fantastic. They made sure we adhered to the covid rules and the window sign clearly displayed it’s governed by Government rules. Inside they had tables for people who may want to eat but if you were buying take out you don’t touch or sit down. The distancing was displayed on the floor. What I loved is both these girls were wearing face shields and masks in really hot temperatures behind the coolers but doing it to ensure you felt comfortable in how your food was being prepared. I know there is division amongst the UK regarding mask wearing etc but at least you felt so reassured they were adhering and complying thoroughly. However getting onto the food. OMG to die for. Our haddock was huge. The way it was cooked and the batter was me banging on for how they made it. They stayed loyal and didn’t divulge anything. The chips were cooked to perfection, not too dark but not too light. And an absolute must is their fish scraps, I could eat them forever and a day. We had some peas and gravy and off we went. Can I fault them? Can I heck. We travel to March to visit family and go to Betts for our massive sausage order and to Stotts for our wonderful fish chips. So looking forwards to our next visit. Keep doing what you do as it’s so so right.
