Roca Mexican Cantina And Tequila

Roca Mexican Cantina is a must-visit for the locals in Coogee, backpackers, and anyone who can make it to the East Side. Gerardo serves some of the best traditional Mexican food I’ve ever had, and if that’s not enough, his impressive selection of over fifty tequilas is sure to impress. Don’t miss Taco Tuesday, featuring $3 tacos, $5 sangrias, and $6 tequilas. If you can’t make it to Coogee, be sure to check out their sister restaurant, Calaveras Mexican Cantina in Newtown.

The food was delightful and very authentic. However, we were disappointed with the dessert; we ordered one of each, but unfortunately, none of us enjoyed them. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and the food arrived promptly.

I was invited to this restaurant and tried several dishes, but the highlights were definitely the Flautas de Pollo—they're like Mexican spring rolls and absolutely delicious! The Fajitas Asadas were also fantastic; I really enjoyed how the flavors were infused in the rice. The service is friendly, and I appreciate the decor of the place. It’s not located on the Main Street, but it's right next to the park and very close to the beach.

Great Mexican food and such fun decor and atmosphere! Plus friendly and genuine customer service. Thus far I've had an assortment of tacos on Taco Tuesday $3 tacos) which have all been deliciously tasty! I will continue to get through the whole menu over the next few months. I would say it's a bit overpriced for the area and for the portion sizes still comparable to every other Mexican place in Sydney though). Perhaps they may lower the prices or have more weekly specials. $16 for a guacamole starter is just way too high I ended up waiting until I was home and made my own guac). Nevertheless, they can take all my dollarz if they keep serving up delicious food like this!
