Bidra med feedbackI can’t believe this grill bar is supposedly attached to a five star hotel! It’s high street cafe at best and there are many high street cafes of much better standard. Starter was appalling. Meat terrine was a stone cold slab of ‘spam’, reminiscent of what you’d get from a Fray Bentos tin. We ordered whole chicken to share for main and it wasn’t available….how on earth could a restaurant not have such a simple dish as whole chicken. This is poor planning and unacceptable. Service was slow, well over half an hour between courses. Service charge included, it should be up to the customer to tip or not. I would NOT recommend this grill bar . It was money wasted. And by the way, even the red wine was bitter!
We started with chicken strips in batter, but the strips were very thin considering the price of 10 pounds. The main course was a shared platter, half of which was deep-fried and priced at a staggering 30 pounds for two people. The other members of my family were not impressed, especially with the duck salad which was terrible. To top it off, the main lights were switched on at 10:10, signaling that it was time for us to leave. Overall, this restaurant is overpriced for the quality of food you receive, and I would recommend avoiding it. On a positive note, the waiting staff were pleasant.
We had a lovely meal at the Loughside Grill and the staff were very attentive. Will definitely be back when in the area again!
The restaurant review would have been better if it weren't for the poor management of a large group of rowdy male golfers. The group was already loud when we arrived, but they continued to get louder and louder throughout our meal. The waitress had trouble hearing our orders due to the noise, resulting in some mistakes. Despite being seated at a reasonable distance, the group's volume was so excessive that it disrupted our experience. The manager did not intervene to address the issue. The food was of good quality and everyone enjoyed it, but we had to remind staff a couple of times to bring dessert menus. Overall, it was a shame that the rowdy group detracted from an otherwise pleasant dining experience at a lovely restaurant with friendly service.
I recently attended a wedding at The Ross suite where the food was exceptional. However, there was room for improvement in how they clean their pint glassware. The pints were coming out with lots of bubbles, which may have been caused by washing them with cups or other contaminated items. Additionally, there was a lack of availability of local Irish lagers like Harp or Rockshore. The food was great, but the beer selection should be given the same attention, especially considering the price.
