Bidra med feedbackI have eaten at the one downtown and it was really good. This was a far cry from that one. I ordered the chicken salad croissant. The croissant was hard. You couldn't cut through it. The waitress didn't check on us after we got our food so I just ate the chicken salad. It tasted bitter with a lemon aioli. I had a side salad and the lettuce was brown. My husband ordered a pub burger. It was over cooked and dry. When the waitress finally came back after we were done, I asked if the croissant was supposed to be that hard. I clunked it on the plate for her. She said it was supposed to be soft. The manager came over and I showed him how hard it was. He gave me $4 off the sandwich. I will not return here.
I've picked up lunch from this location twice now and have been disappointed both times. This time got the beet salad and it didn't come with the almonds or pumpkin seeds, they forgot the dressing, had me go to the bar then back to the front to pick up the order, and overall both times were a stressful experience just to pick up a single lunch order. Staff were friendly enough but a hassle in general.
We ordered online and paid online on Mother 's Day. My husband went to pick it up at the allotted time. They said they didn 't do pick-up orders on Mother 's Day. They didn 't make it right and fill our order, they refunded my husband after THEY used a company that allowed us to start our order when they weren 't accepting orders. This 'refund ' took 30 minutes making my husband late for our other plans on empty stomachs. I 'm updating my review after talking more with my husband. They offered him a 6 pack of beer for the inconvenience, but we don 't drink and that would not feed 2 hungry kids or provide a solution for me, mom. They hung up on all the phone calls instead of having a message saying they aren 't doing pick up orders today. As far as making right something that went wrong I am unhappy with them, bad form.
This was our first time at the Fish Hatchery Rd Great Dane. Luckily we had a window seat (the next best thing to sitting outside. our server was friendly and attentive. The meals arrives in a timely manner. All the entrees were tasty and well prepared. The cheese curds had a crunchy, lightly breaded coating. My burger was a tasty juicy medium, and I just love the waffle fries. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken salad sandwich with tasty sweet potato fries. IDK, the spicy cauliflower bites I thought were really good, but others at my table didn't share the same feeling. I think it was because it was cauliflower and not chicken. But, I would definitely order them again. The quality of the entrees is consistent at all the Great Danes. This was no different. I would definitely be returning, and hopefully able to sit on the patio.
Poor service, good apps, inconsistent and mediocre main entree. Booking via telephone needed (no option to reserve online) but good for larger groups planning last minute (probably since restaurant isn 't great), and outdoor seating available. APPS/STARTERS: decent (wouldn 't say perfected, as their website claims) Cheese curds were soso. Not prepped with much attention to detail as the pieces were merged together meaning there was not consistent stirring to ensure separation. Brussel sprouts were ok. Texture could have been crispier but it was well seasoned. You can 't go too wrong with battered cauliflower, which was ok, too, typical bar food standard. ENTREE: not great Chicken Pot Pie was so so, crust not very flaky or buttery. Chicken was dry. Flavor was not remarkable. I think the frozen microwavable pot pies might be better. Mac and Cheese came highly recommended but quality varied amongst those at the table. Someone had bland Mac and Cheese because whoever prepared it didn 't even throughout heat the cheese so cheese was dry and crusty, not melted and mixed into the macaroni. Chicken was dry. Side of pretzel stick was hard to eat and extremely dry. Pretzels prepared by teenagers at the pool taste better. SERVICE: terrible Did come here with a notably larger group for a conference which can definitely be challenging for restaurant staff. Server did not refill water for us, nor did they double check to ensure the method of dividing checks and the appetizers was appropriate (two people only got hit with ALL the apps which ultimately led to being over their individual per diem). They also rammed a chair by accident into my chair, and did not apologize or say anything (of course this was after we already tipped them [I gave $5 tip for a $15 meal, knowing it was likely stressful for them, even though they didn 't try and probably hated being there]. OTHER NOTES: Atmosphere was chill and outdoor tables were nice but the chairs were very uncomfortable Booking requires a phone call rather than an option to do things electronically It was cumbersome and unideal for the server to need to walk around our table with the device to have everyone pay and indicate a tip. With our individual checks and 15 people, they probably spent a good 20 minutes going around the table. Printed receipts also printed inside so they needed to come back to distribute them. Management should look into making this process more efficient so staff can have more time to do other things. We did ask for individual checks which can be a pain for the server. May have been also consecutive days that the server needed to take care of larger groups given the conference. We also were extremely excited to see folks we hadn 't seen in years, so I definitely understand we weren 't the easiest to deal with.
