Laksa King - FLEMINGTON

Walked through the rain on a cold cold Saturday night and even before saw the restaurant we could smell the delicious aromas. Upon entering the smells of the coconut and curry were grouse. We ordered the soft shell crab and a small fish laska, both were really yummy and warming on a cold night. The serving were way to big for us so we took half home and had for dinner the next nightThe only reason I marked down slightly was that the laska was a bit sweet and we prefer spicier

It was outside the central Melbourne and the easiest way to get here is taking the train to Newmarket station (tram takes much longer). It is just next to the station.It is quite popular. Even after 2pm in weekends (or 8:30pm on weeknights) there is still a line. However, the line moves fast and you don't usually need to wait long.The menu is extensive, with more than just laksa dishes. There are a few vegetarian items (but not too many). I usually ordered vegetarian laksa, with varieties of vegetables, bean curds. It is tasty. Not only the food price is cheap, the drinks are also generally cheaper than most other places.

What a great dinner we had here. A very busy restaurant but we soon found out why...food was tasty, hot, fresh and the service was fast and friendly. Best Chinese food I have had in quite some time!

Simply the best quality price in Melbourne. No wonder why this restaurant is crowded every day of the week at anytime. The chicken laksa is a must. Bookings are essential

Been here so many times that I forgot to review it! What can I say? Excellent on all levels. Very quick service, succulent food! Beautiful presentation. I especially enjoyed the massaman style curry dishes as well as the roti bread and noodles. Cant go wrong. The only "problems" would have to be loud noise and overcrowding but that comes with the territory of being a very popular place. I would give more foods a try but if its not broke dont fix it they say so will stick to curries and satay! 10/10
