The Topiary Coffee Shop - Flintshire

We were in search of a light lunch while visiting the garden center. The staff was friendly and the service was good. However, the regular coffee was served in a small cup. The sandwiches were expensive and lacked filling, with dry bread that I couldn't eat. I requested a soup instead, which was tasty but came with only a small portion of baguette. My husband, who works in catering, was shocked by the high prices and low quality of the food. We ended up spending £20 on a lunch that we didn't enjoy and regretted going there. Despite the manager being apologetic, we were not offered a refund for the difference between the sandwich and soup. We have decided not to return to this restaurant.

The meal was a great deal for the price. The menu had some nice surprises along with the usual options. The service was good, the restaurant was clean and well-kept, and everything was worth the money. We met friends here and had a lovely lunch; we will definitely consider this venue again in the future.

Good menu, busy place with a good turnover of fresh food. Great selection of hot cold food, sweet , savoury drinks. Good size seating area, clean toilets although cold. Disabled access.

My friend and I went in for breakfast and both ordered a vegetarian breakfast, and asked for the fried egg to be changed to a poached egg. Nick on the Till deferred to her manager behind her who didn 't even bother to turn around and acknowledge us and just said no. Now I know the only fixed meal is the early bird breakfast. I have regularly been going to Daleside nursery for over 40 years. But will now no longer spend my money on food in that cafe. The staff are rude and don 't accommodate you unless they class you as a regular

Always busy with lovely meals on offer from cooked breakfasts to roast dinners. The scones are to die for
