Bidra med feedbackA great offer of delicious Southern Style cooking! Undoubtedly, one of the most interesting restaurants I've ever visited.
Diane was a lovely server and extremely attentive. The kitchen staff hit it out of the park with the food, everything was fresh and yummy. I do wish there was a bit more for meat selection, and veggies. But overall enjoyed our experience. It's a lovely location as well.
This is a restaurant that my family and I visit frequently. We make it a point to come to Foley once a year, and dining here is always one of our top priorities. We've been coming for several consecutive years, and each time has been perfect—even to the extent that we often find ourselves returning multiple times in just a few days. The food is incredible, and the staff is extremely friendly. The ambiance and the building itself are enjoyable as well. Some of our favorite dishes include the fried fish and shrimp, mac and cheese, chicken and dumplings, green beans, potatoes, and the salad bar. They also offer a wonderful selection of desserts. I'm sure you're pleased with what you've accomplished!
The traditional homemade recipes truly shine, featuring dishes like turkey dressing, apple cheese, boiled potatoes, green beans, roasted chicken, pork roast, spinach soufflé, sweet potato casserole, shrimp bisque, gumbo, roasted shrimp, roasted white fish, and a variety of decadent desserts like chocolate icebox cake, cherry trifle, pecan shortbread, snickerdoodles, and fudge cake, including German cakes. The ambiance is enriched by historical antiques, and the knowledgeable servers are familiar with local stories and the restaurant’s history. The stunning decor, with beautiful walls and ceilings, creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like a hug. The friendly and attentive staff embody kindness and helpfulness. During our visit, a large private event took place next door, yet we enjoyed a perfect balance of privacy and tranquility in the main café despite the lively atmosphere. Mardi Gras crowns adorned the tables for the local parade crews, and while the café buzzed with activity and music, the volume remained comfortable for those who prefer quieter spaces. The venue is spacious and accessible, with two entrances and ample parking, making it family-friendly and also a great spot for a date. It’s a shame that such unique and elegant dining experiences aren’t more common in many places. This restaurant truly stands out as a gem along the Gulf Coast. Don’t miss it! Just two blocks away, you can find large oaks with benches perfect for pausing to reflect and be grateful after your visit—life is short, and you might indulge in more than just a slice of peach cake!
I had an outstanding experience at this restaurant, thanks to the excellent service and delicious food. The buffet offered a wide variety of options, including fish, shrimp, crispy fried steak, chicken and dumplings, and plenty of vegetables. The staff made sure that the hot food remained available at the buffet. The shrimp bisque and gummy bears were particularly memorable – incredibly tasty! The atmosphere was delightful, with the restaurant originally built in 1913 and featuring stained wooden slat walls that add a cozy touch. It's a great place for both couples and families. The prices were very reasonable, and finding parking was easy.
