Il Rifugio Pornito - FORMIA

We stayed in four, along with our dog, to make an excursion to the Redeemer and we ran into the Pornito Refuge. From the beginning we were attracted by the typical structure and, above all, by the kindness and friendliness of the managers. Our excursion ended with a tasty lunch, full of top quality ingredients, prepared in the right way and with love. We had the pleasure of enjoying an appetizer followed by a variety of dishes, accompanied by wine, beer and water. The kitchen was really good, with simple but tasty dishes, which fully respected the ingredients used. In particular, sheep and marinated chicken have amazed us for their exceptional taste. Congratulations to chefs for their culinary mastery! The service was quick and helpful, and we were greeted with cordiality throughout our stay. The breathtaking view of the mountains and the Gulf has made the experience even more enjoyable and relaxing. At the end of the meal, we ended with a coffee and amari, which represented the perfect final for this culinary experience. In summary, we strongly recommend the Pornito Refuge to all those looking for a place of peace and tranquility surrounded by nature, away from the heat and confusion of the city. The kitchen is good and genuine, and you can taste excellent wines and homemade desserts. We look forward to returning more often, because the mountain really conquered us. Small refuge with beautiful views of the mountains and the gulf. Excellent cuisine, excellent raw materials, simple but tasty processing that respect the ingredients. Pecora marinated and grilled by ten! Crazy. Good, don't change. Recommended

We arrived by bike to this refuge after an infinite climb of 25 km hungry and grateful to be able to refresh us. In these conditions, if we were offered a roasted shoe, we would have eaten it without problems. That said we share in two the review between location and food consumed. Location: 5 well-deserved stars! place from the breathtaking panorama and warm and comfortable environment. Restaurant: 4 stars. The very good appetizers, remained a disappointed thread from the first ones from the rather reduced portions. Other friends ordered the mixed grill and had a great look. All in all, I feel like I'm promoting it in full grades because we've been fine and we've struggled to get out and keep pedaling.

Located in a very panoramic place that recalls the Dolomites, recently renovated, is an excellent starting point for the ascent to the statue of the Redeemer and beautiful walks in the park of the Aurunci mountains. I'll try again. The surrounding area is beautiful, especially at sunset.
