Tastee Freez - Fort Kent

The food here is excellent most of the time. The only reason I gave this wonderful place four stars is that they have reduced the size of their delicious Doughboy to half its usual size. While they are still tasty and convenient, I understand that rising costs for restaurants could play a role in this change.

While we were there, we noticed the owners and workers were friendly; they even set up another picnic table just six feet from ours. As we were leaving, they thanked us for coming back, which was a nice touch. We'll definitely be returning because we loved the ice cream and the atmosphere. I hope the next owners will be just as kind because I heard the place is up for sale. They also have doggie cups available for your pets, and while I didn’t eat there since it was packed, I could tell they were following all COVID-19 guidelines, which is likely why it was so busy. Overall, it’s a lovely little spot with clean restrooms!

I have traveled all over Maine and the U.S.A. and one day I found Al's Tastee Freeze......What a great place to eat. They are number one for the best omelettes in Maine. The service is fast and the place is very clean. You must wear a mask to enter. Linda L. Doyle

I love Al's Tastee Freeze! I grew up down the street from this place. The food and ice cream is amazing! Friendly staff and great atmosphere!

The best take in St. John Valley. Ice treats are famous, and dinners are even better. The Schelldock dinner is fresh, tasty and sufficient for two. It comes with excellent Cole Slav and a role; Get it with the sweet potato friars.
