Dong Bang - Fort Lee

We visited this restaurant as a party of four last Saturday and had a disappointing experience. I tried to order the clams and spinach in miso broth, but the waitress communicated in a way that was confusing. She pointed to numbers on the menu, but there were none, and when I showed her what I wanted, she kept repeating something I couldn't understand, partially due to her mask. I kept telling her I didn’t understand, but she just continued to say the same thing. This went on for several minutes, and none of the other staff seemed to get what she was saying either. I couldn't tell if she was asking a question or making a statement. Eventually, I stopped responding because I felt frustrated and worried I might not get my order at all, but thankfully, the dish did eventually arrive. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning. Additionally, I had a problem with the valet service; they claimed they couldn’t drive my car and I had to go retrieve it myself.

We stopped going there because their side dishes (banchan) are no longer that good.

The food is good, but the portions are far too small for the $50 price tag. It's quite expensive. The service was just okay; the person who handled the barbecue didn't even inform us when the meat was ready. I won't be returning.

Very attentive and personable staff! Waiter James was very caring. I got a sizzling galbi dolsot and Gimchi soup combo (only 26$ and the beef was high quality was and soup was authentic. The side dishes are tasty. It seems a great spot for groups. Staff explains the nutrients of the dishes as well.
