Stewby's Seafood Shanty

We ordered delivery, and everything went perfectly. We had heard great things about the food, and it did not disappoint. The fried shrimp, chicken, hush puppies, and calamari were fresh, lightly breaded, not greasy, and simply delicious. The gumbo was likewise very fresh and hearty, with a nice little kick to it. The cheese grits, potato salad, and fish dip made for excellent sides. Keep up the fantastic work!

I would rate the beach location slightly lower than the original spot in town. I understand why they might charge a bit more at the beach, as they probably have higher rent or mortgage costs for their prime property. However, I was disappointed to find that there are no lunch specials at the beach location, not even during the off-season—only the dinner menu is available. The lunch prices aren't excessive, with fried shrimp costing $15.99, but it wasn't what I was hoping for. I didn't really want that much fried food for lunch.

I ordered the fried grouper, green beans, and fries, and everything was delicious. The hush puppies were also fantastic. The food was served quickly, which was a nice bonus.

We saw Stewby's line outside the door and thought we'd give it a try. Good idea! My husband had the oyster and shrimp combo, and I had the grilled Mahi Mahi. We both loved our food, and came back the next night. I usually order blackened seafood, but with the spices I was very happy. Great food, great prices. The staff is friendly. Win, win.

This place was rated very high, and we even talked to a few people that really like it. With that said, everything and I mean everything is highly seasoned/soaked with old bay seafood seasoning. Which means you can not taste the actual seafood. Even the okra and etc is heavily seasoned with old bay. This is not something we would actually recommend if you want seafood and want to taste your seafood. 3 stars max. I do not recommend...
