I had a frustrating experience at this restaurant. My credit card was charged three times in a matter of minutes for the same items at the same checkout. The issue arose over a deal on mineral water, and I was told that I would be charged for any mistakes made. The manager claimed they couldn't find the second transaction, yet the company provided me with the bank statement showing that the transaction had occurred with the delivery of the goods. It’s baffling that I was charged three times for the same item! They refuse to review all three charges to see the obvious error. I've spent hundreds of dollars and countless hours trying to resolve this issue, and after being a loyal customer for decades, my trust has been shattered.
This is probably one of the worst Safeway locations I've ever visited. The bakery selection is minimal, and the lines are consistently long. The biggest issue, however, is the terrible customer service. I did meet a few nice employees, but most of the staff hardly acknowledges me during checkout, and my groceries are often not properly bagged. I end up with too much in my arms, making it difficult to carry everything. The Safeway in Eureka is much better, but since I live nearby, this is my most convenient option. I usually try to get in and out as quickly as possible.
I live pretty close to this place, so I often buy here. While the price points are slightly higher than I prefer (Winco prices are better) I am delighted to be a little more at home for convenience and have bagged my stuff for me. There are many employees who have been working at Fortuna for years, and I love seeing familiar faces almost every time I go in. The staff is so friendly! The current manager, Ariel, is the sweetest. She always says hello when I see her in the store, always asks if I found everything I needed, and if I don't, she offers me to check the back or show me where he is. She really cares about doing her job well and it shows. This place continues to increase the amount of organic and health food they carry, and I love that! Your product section has a convenience shelf where I can buy things like pre-sold vegetables and pico de gallo, which I appreciate. You also have a greatly reduced shelf on the back of the store through the customer's storage room, where you can buy heavily discounted items that are either from the season, have some small imperfection, or had opened the outer packaging. I am so glad to have a safeway here in town and always appreciate the service I have provided.

I'm so happy to have a Safeway here in town, and always appreciate the service I'm provided.
