Great American Fredericksburg

Probably the best buffet in the area! While the selection isn't huge, every item I tried was delicious and well-prepared. The fried chicken thighs were huge and had a tasty batter over the crispy skin. The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking (medium). I didn't have much dessert, but the ice cream was so good, I wanted to go back for more. The service and hospitality were excellent and friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting with family or friends - it's affordable and worth it!

I had a group of 35 people and called Bruce a few days in advance. We got lost trying to find the restaurant, but once we spoke to Bruce, he gave us the right directions. When we arrived, Bruce was waiting for us and had reserved a room with plenty of space. The food was amazing and our server Nathaniel was excellent, very attentive to our group's needs. Big thanks to Bruce and the team for a fantastic experience, we enjoyed everything. Thank you so much.

I recently visited this restaurant for lunch, as I have done several times before. I have always enjoyed the food, and the prices are very reasonable for seniors. Unfortunately, during this visit, while sitting at our booth, we discovered four roaches crawling out from the back and along the back of the booth. This was very unsettling, and we decided to leave without finishing our meal. I understand that it can be difficult to keep roaches away, as they may come in boxes from suppliers, but seeing them in the seating area was too much for me to handle. We will not be returning to this restaurant. I did inform the manager about the issue, and he apologized and did not charge us for the food. However, I believe that upper management should address this issue with a deep cleaning and bug extermination.

My family celebrates many birthdays and special events at Great American Buffet. We have ALWAYS had great hostesses and the food has always been very good. I appreciate the fact that it isn't seasoned too much because we often have elderly members of my family with us.

Cons... The meats(steak, ribs) was cold Floors are so sticky even the carpet floor area was sticky Bathroom was dirty and no soap, after covid hit you would expect there to always be soap in the bathroom. I guess not... Pros... Waiter was new but nice and friendly was on top of getting drinks refilled and getting table cleared off
