On The River - Freeport

Absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived until we left, everyone was incredibly welcoming. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lively and family-friendly!

10 stars. The entire staff welcomed us like family. Inside is cozy with rustic farm house decor, and original hardwood floors. The home made cole slaw corn bread would make my grandmother jealous! Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. We definitely will be regular customers.

We had On the River cater our August 2024 wedding. The communication with Drew leading up the event was seamless. He was very accommodating and professional. The day of the wedding his staff, and himself, showed up and did a phenomenal job. The food was delicious, the professionalism was off the charts. And they had the best catering price around! I cannot recommend them enough! I will also add many of our wedding guests and our families were impressed as well. We’re happy we chose On The River for our special day! Thanks so much Drew and team for making the Tate wedding that much better!!!

I’ve been here several times throughout my life and it’s always been good. The cornbread and the coleslaw is one of many items that sets this place apart. You can’t really have a bad meal here. The fried seafood is always good and the onion rings are some of the best around. I got the steak and shrimp most recently and it was decent. A little tough but it’s probably because I ordered it a little overcooked. The Cajun grilled shrimp was really good. I would also recommend a margarita on the rocks if you are looking for a drink. Definitely come and check this place out if you have never been. 10/10 absolutely recommend.
