Every year, a visit to the CAFÉ HARTMANN belongs at least once to the family obligation program, because not only I feel comfortable here, the facility is suitable and harmonious, in the old baroque building floats Wiener Café Flair. The service is nice and attentive, but not intrusive. The cake, biscuits and other pastries as well as the beautiful cakes and the marzipan offer are simply classy, just Saxon patisserie quality. THE SPECIAL in Freiberg is its FREIBERGER EIERSCHECKE, consisting of a shallow yeast pastry and a foamyly beaten and mixed with decomposed butter, to which then raisins and almond fragments are added before baking. According to legend, the fact that the Freiberger Eggschecke is not produced like other egg checks, but without quark is due to the fact that the special formulation should have been created from the need. The Freiberger did not want to give up their eggs, but the quark needed for this was “used” in the construction of the city wall. An enjoyable NOTE, a superlative Freiberger bakery speciality AND a calorie bomb, unfortunately. TROTZDEM is one of the sweetest seductions of my palate. I almost forgot the second speciality, the Bauerhasen, a tasty yeast pastry for fasting with history. You can find him at the entrance to Café Hartmann. The CAFÉ HARTMANN on the upper market is one of the first café cakes tort addresses in Freiberg, not only for tourists, in addition to the Café Andelt near the lower market and the Schwanenschlösschen.
