Bidra med feedbackThere is a Shirazi Cafe and a Shirazi Kebob House both on the same block. It is confusing because if you google Shirazi Restaurant, Shirazi Cafe Pops up but the Google pictures show both facilities. We got food from the Kebob House, formerly called Ali Baba, at the bus stop. We have four Entrees: Beef tikka $11), Chicken tikka $10), Lamb hacks $17) and Lambry with qabeli $14). Prices were appropriate for the quantity of food. The cattle ktikka and chicken ktikka were two spits each, and we received six pieces of lamb fur. The lamb dogs were tender and juicy while well cooked. As a rule, when lambs are chopped well, they are dried, but these were good. On the other hand, usually juicy lamb hacking are very pink inside. We were happy to have made it both good and tender. Some pieces of beef-ktikka were a bit chewing and had not much taste. It was difficult to come by how hard the pieces were, but not all pieces of beef were like these. The chicken medicine was better than the beef. Some pieces were a bit dry, but overall it was good. The lamb was tender and tasty. We received four small squares of bread packed in two pieces of foil. I would recommend this place for anyone who didn't try it. You can't beat it at the price!
Nice and clean environment. Food is good and well prepared. We ordered Combination 1. Lamb Chops are really delicious.
Shirazi Kebab House has switched locations a few times and is now at a much brighter spot. I've had really good experiences here and a really bad one. In the negative experience, I ordered a takeout order and waited for over an hour never receiving my meal. After asking multiple times I was told to hold on and five more minutes multiple times. I left without anything. My girl decided to try the restaurant again and we were satisfied with the food. The menus light up and the restaurant is very spacious. I ordered the Qabuli Pilau which is two steamed lamb shanks served on a bed of rice with carrots and raisins. The portion was massive and I had to take it home. The lamb shanks were pretty big and fell off the bone. My girlfriend had a plate with one chicken tikka and one beef tikka. She liked her meal. The location was also clean and we were asked for our Vaccination cards.
The best kebab in NYC! Try their chicken and beef kofta. It is superb. The serving is plenty. The rice is flavorful and aromatic. Be sure to buy the bottle of Shirazi White Sauce. It tastes great. I never thought I will be addicted to Afghan food. Try it, you will surely be a regular customer.
The restaurant has a lovely and clean appearance. This was my second visit today, and the food was excellent. I ordered the Shirazi Platter, which was quite enjoyable. However, the service from the host/waiter took a bit longer than expected. I suspect this is due to the restaurant being understaffed, as they had a lot of takeout orders, which may have caused them to overlook the dine-in customers. Additionally, the numerous mirrors throughout the restaurant are visually appealing but made navigation to the restrooms slightly confusing. Overall, I would recommend this place, but be prepared to be patient. It might be a good idea to visit during off-peak hours or consider ordering takeout.
