Fatz Cafe - Gaffney

Food is good, portions are big, nice spot. I just can't say enough about the bartender, Sunshine. Honestly she made my whole experience for me. It was a slow lunch, and she was so nice. She recommended my lunch, and chatted me up. Great service, but a better person.

I had been waiting a long time for our food during a party. As a gesture for the inconvenience, they offered us an appetizer, but when the soup arrived, it was cold. I requested that it be warmed up, but it wasn’t brought back until we were already being served dessert. I also asked for fried broccoli, but what I received was roasted and mushy. I had specifically requested that the broccoli be steamed separately, yet it arrived practically raw. We frequently had to wait a long time for drink refills. One of my guests received potato soup but I never received the soup I ordered with my meal. Overall, I was very disappointed and cannot see myself returning.

She never wrote down our order and had to come back multiple times to confirm what we wanted, as she kept forgetting. At one point, I noticed her chatting with the hostess for about ten minutes before finally going to the computer to place our order. We waited about 15 minutes before any food arrived at our table. The waitress mentioned twice that she would bring us fresh rolls, but after about 10 minutes, we asked when they would arrive. She explained that they had just taken the rolls out of the oven and needed another six minutes to bake them, but in our case, it ended up taking ten minutes to get them. One of our dishes was supposed to feature a specific garnish. When the food finally arrived, the waitress told us they didn’t have the right garnish as listed on the menu because the cook couldn’t find it in the kitchen, so they used something else instead! After spending over an hour there—most of which was waiting for our food and drinks—we decided to leave and vowed never to return. I noticed another group of customers who arrived before we left, and the same waitress came to their table twice to confirm their orders without writing anything down! Overall, it was a poor excuse for service.

Delicious food and excellent service! Our server was incredibly attentive and patient, allowing us to chat for several hours. I absolutely love this place!

The Chicken Strips (Calabash) are Crazy Good. The club was good but too much bread. Great Rolls and Cinnamon butter! The staff here is very Friendly and accommodating. It's a nice size place, not crowded at 3 pm on a Thursday. I've seen Fatz packed many times as I drove by on I-85, but this is my 1st time actually eating here. Great spot, very clean. I'll be back!
