Burnt Umber Coffee Ft. Petals Poison Tea Room

In my search for perfect pairings of drinks and food I found a new breakfast spot in Burnt Umber. I tried the Vanilla Bean latte which is anything but basic! Topped with the house cold foam making it extra delicious Paired it with the ham and cheese quiche which is super yummy on its own but the verde salsa that comes on the side is addictive, just the right spice to add to the cheesy goodness of the quiche. Staff were helpful and friendly. The decor is super cool especially if you are into goth, dark, Victorian spooky spectacular vibes. The space is intimate but cozy inside and they have a few tables outside for overflow. Overall a magical experience

Came in on my lunch break w a sandwich from next door. Bought a 7 dollar coffee. Was told not only could I not sit on the couch with my food but that I needed to leave altogether and go sit outside. The man who told me was very nice. In fairness there were signs posted which I didn’t see. My best friend just suffered a massive heart attack and I was out of it. Really enjoyed the coffee. But to tell a paying customer to go outside was a bit much. I will not be returning. Hope it was worth it.

This is some of the smoothest coffee we have ever had. The people working behind the counter were so nice and helpful. They gave such great recommendations for both of our preferences! The vibes inside are slightly spooky and so warm. Burnt Umber is absolutely a highlight of coffee in OC and we can’t wait to return!

I had the Sleigh Ride iced coffee avocado toast, both were delicious!

Customer Service is better than most, drinks are just okay to pretty good. The amount of ice in the drinks is a bit shocking for almost $7. I haven’t tried anything groundbreaking here and honestly have had better coffee. Really wanted to love it because it is a goth place and family owned.
