El Norteno - Gary

I was VERY disappointed with this establishment after my visit yesterday. The lady at the front counter showed no customer service. She didn’t greet me or didn’t even say “May I help you?” When I was given my food no one said “thank you”. Their prices have gone up again. Almost $4.00/taco. They never have specials, like a discount for Taco Tuesday. They require you to wear a mask and want to charge you $1.00 for one. The majority of places in Lake County do not require masks anymore, so why would I think to have one. They only take cash, which is the most unhealthiest form of payment. They’re too cheap to pay the credit card fee. They squeeze two tacos on the smallest plate possible so not to allow much lettuce or tomatoes. They don’t any chicken choices which is healthier). Lastly, the quality of their food isn’t the same. Very little meat in taco. I’ve been going for 30+ years but I won’t be back. There are far better places in Merrillville, Schereville , and Crown Point.

First of all, somebody need to tell the security guard to calm ALL the way down

It's one of the best taco restaurants around, it gets busy. Check your order before you leave. Only had one bad experience, but it was solved very pleasantly.

We love this place...we were raised on these Tacos. Anytime we are home in Gary from Ft. Lauderdale it's one of our FIRST stopsTacos are still great 50 years later...

The best tacos in the entire area and more, you must wear mask.. fast service depending on the line, and there's always a line ... food is authentic
