Mr Dakgalbi - George Town

Huge Portion, barely finished by 2 grown men. We ordered Squid and Chicken set (1pax) rice ramen. And I am sure we can feed 4 people. Squid goes well with chicken as it moisten it, making it less dry.

Dakgalbi, a type of Korean stir-fry dish with Gochujang sauce, has been well-received by Malaysians. One of the biggest players- Mr. Dakgalbi has recently at Gurney Plaza. With its success in central Malaysia, the spread of news on the brand expanding its business operations to Penang was quick . The franchised restaurant has a small menu dedicated for Dakgalbi but their unique selling point is none other than their alluring Cheese Ring where diners get to enjoy the stir-fried Chicken with pulls of gooey, stretchy melted Cheese.

I like that they have a few combos to suit the number of pax. The place is quite well aired as there was no stained air. Taste is reasonably alright.

We chose the cheese-ring set (chicken) for 2 people. The set included marinated chicken, rice, noodle, tteokbokki, cabbage, and melted cheese. It was a lot, actually, if you had 2 people, shouldn’t order more side dishes. The food tastes average. In overall, it’s really oily and greasy. The sauce is quite sweet for me. If you try their Mr. Dak fried rice, you’ll definitely not like the rice in this set anymore (yes, Mr. Dak fried rice is highly recommended the flavor is excellent). Their location is quite hard to find. Serving time is quick. The girl at front-desk is very lovely and friendly . Come again? Maybe.
