Piper Lane Cafe - Geraldton

We had a wonderful dining experience here with very creative dishes. The homemade grilled octopus was especially delicious, as were the Asian scallops with crumble and sesame. The coconut shrimp were also tasty, as well as the beet bruschetta. The atmosphere was nice, with outdoor seating available and friendly service.

The appetizers of flower cabbage and Arancini balls looked stunning. However, the seafood risotto fell short. The risotto was simply rice with seafood (3 shrimp, 1 squid, 3 mussels) added on top instead of being cooked within the dish for flavor. The chorizo was overcooked and the mussels were small and overdone, but after a complaint, they were replaced. Overall, the risotto was a disappointment. We were disappointed with our experience and apologized for trying it.

We made a quick stop in Geraldton on our way back from Kalbarri and stumbled upon this café. The café was spacious and not too crowded, so we were able to easily find a table. There was an upper level with restrooms and they offered both cabinet food and a menu. I ordered a hot chocolate and the chili fried eggs. The hot chocolate was a bit too milky for my liking, but the eggs were delicious with a nice kick from the chili and creamy avocado. They also brought out special cookies, but we were too full from our meal to try them. Overall, it was a pleasant stop for breakfast on the main road in Geraldton.

Beautiful location. but very busy when we arrived. had a table top and carry baby and buggy top as no elevator. during the order, the employees seemed stressed and uninterested when answering questions about vegan and gf options. poor choice of gf and vegan food available. coffee well. but in total, quite expensive to choose breakfast. also no baby change facilities available if in demand. disappoint total experience.

Very nice breakfast, little in the pricey side. But quite large serves.the brekky Wrap would easily feed two people
