Hunt's Battlefield Fries - GETTYSBURG

It’s a bit cramped, but absolutely worth it! Just a tip: the large fries are incredible. My wife and I each ordered a sandwich and shared a medium fries, but we couldn't finish them.

There are many reviews discussing the ambiance of this restaurant, which has a dive bar feel filled with military and other memorabilia, as well as comments on the service and the food. Given all the positive feedback, I had high hopes for my visit. I thought the cheesesteak was good, but it didn’t quite reach greatness. Unfortunately, the chili cheese fries were a letdown. The fries were undercooked, and the cheese and chili only added to their sogginess. In the end, my rating was low because the fries didn’t live up to the expectations for a place that has “fries” in its name.

This is definitely one of the best cheesesteaks I've had in a long time. The interior of the restaurant was a bit cluttered, but I can understand the need to offer merchandise for tourists in a city like Gettysburg.

The fries with cheese and bacon were FIRE. The place is at a convenient spot right off the road. The owner of the place is very kind and helpful, and the food came out relatively quick.

My wife and I are usually picky but the breakfast was pretty good. Everything hit but the scrambled eggs could’ve used a little salt and pepper or more if a tiny bit was added. We will be back!
