Bidra med feedbackDelicious spot for a coffee or a sweet treat! I haven't had a bad drink yet! The staff is so friendly makes you feel super welcome!
I love churn. I hate that I have to reduce the stars on my review. My husband and I frequent the Richland Mall location. We love the variety of ice cream flavors and drinks. We will always choose to support locally owned businesses before large chain places. The experience I had yesterday was really disappointing. My husband and I went in the afternoon. My husband ordered an ice cream cone, I ordered a black iced tea, and an egg and cheese bagel. His cone was quickly scooped up, served, and I was snagging bites before we could even grab a table. A family of 5 with the same idea came in and were drooling over all the ice cream flavors. The girl that took our order was then scooping for them. No problem. We were happy to wait, as there is plenty of seating at this location and I love checking out all the different Torani syrups. Three other people came in and ordered some coffees. By the end of the cone, I was starting to feel a little forgotten about. Or almost as if the girl was frustrated that I had ordered some food along with my drink and was purposefully trying to avoid me. I went to the front where I saw my drink sitting and three employees standing there, and asked Excuse me, is this my drink? . They all kind of looked at each other with confusion, and the girl that took our order says oh.... Ya. I am completely fine with waiting, but I wish that they would have communicated that it would take awhile for my items while others are served. I took the tea back to our table. It tasted excellent! I hadn 't tried the iced tea yet up until this point, but I really liked the flavor. My husband got a work call, so he had to step outside. It had been around 10 15 minutes since ordering. At that point, the staff members working had made me feel very unwelcome and I just wanted to leave. I asked if they could just refund the bagel to my husband 's card. They just stared at me, and the other employee asked, even if it 's done you don 't want it? . She boxed it up and set it on the counter without even looking at me. No apology for the wait. Wasn 't even going to look at me. I was really taken aback. I had never experienced service like this at churn, and was starting to regret that I urged my husband to tip on the card before all was said and done. I would have been perfectly fine with waiting longer if the employee would have just said hey it 's going to be a few minutes on the drink and bagel . It 's the fact that I felt she was frustrated that I wanted something to eat, and continued to shrug my order off and serve other customers without saying anything to me. We left feeling really really bummed out, and questioning if we feel comfortable returning. My first time trying their food the egg and cheese bagel, was incredibly bland and boring, unfortunately. The tea was excellent.
On a scale of romance novels to documentaries, Churn is the romance novel The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. It's a classic story of opposites attracting. Step into Churn, where coffee and homemade ice cream exist side by side. Have a friend who loves coffee and another friend who prefers ice cream? Then Churn is the perfect spot! You can smell the sugar from outside the shop, and once inside, the scent is absolutely swoon-worthy. The coffee menu is expansive, and the ice cream options are plentiful as well. All I can say is I'll be back because I enjoy coffee AND ice cream immensely. Pro Tip: Take a boomerang video on the swinging hammock chairs tucked away in the back of the shop (past the bathrooms)
Nice new store in Shoppers Plaza. This is our go to ice cream place in Gibsonia. Their waffle cones are great and the scoop sizes are generous.
I loved this little coffee shop when I first visited their smaller location on Route 8. Now they are located in the Richland Mall Plaza next to Emiliano's. There couldn't be a better combination a coffee and ice cream shop. Two of life's greatest treats. Not only do they have a wide variety of ice cream flavors, their Torani coffee and tea flavored syrup collection is quite extensive. The drink combinations are endless. They also have a small refrigerated section with assorted bottled drinks to grab and go. Specifically the Calypso bottled drinks. I found a unique flavor here at Churn that I hadn't seen before! I haven't tried their food yet, but the menu looks good for breakfast/brunch type items. My favorite ice cream flavor is the espresso sprinkle, but their cheesecake varieties are also a hit. They do have a small assortment of pastries, cake pops, and cookies. It also looks like they are doing cakes now. If you are interested in trying out your barista skills at home, they have some of the Torani syrups for sale in store, as well as miscellaneous coffee/Churn gear. Overall a nice place to grab coffee. Glad they are in a bigger building now with more store space.
