Feedback
Bidra med feedbackWe travelled all the way with the sole reason to visit this restaurant in view of the positive feedback it has online as well as the accolades it obtained from the Michelin guide. We were not disappointed. Original approach with 2 separate amuse guile. The first amuse came in 3 small glasses with melon, beet, and a ‘meat crème’. The second amuse consisted of tasteful mussels. Well done. The service was impeccable, attentive, just fine knew when to come and when to step away. I had tuna as a first course, while the other members of the party had trout and as a main dish we had the beef which was just great. The ambient temperature was a tad to cool for the ladies. The wine list offers a fine overview of ‘vins de france’. I took a St. Pourcain and later a Pessac Leognon. Unfortunately for both wines the years that were in the wine list were not available anymore, update the wine list , or just delete the years and leave that up for the sommelier. The selection of cheeses was just fabulous.
For a taste of Loire cooking at its best Cote Jardin is the place. The ambiance is simple and welcoming. The owner hosts are always there to make you feel like old friends. Each course has been superbly crafted with a blend of tastes that leaves you in awe of the chef's creativity. A very nice selection of meat and fish. I had the pork loin and wasabi which was divine. All of our party was speechless during the meal. The piece de resistance is the cheese board. A presentation of large rolling table with cheese delicacies of the surrounding regions. I have been coming to the restaurant for years and hope to for many others.
Cote Jardin is located in small town of Gien. Near the river loire. This Restaurant overall are excellent in term of quality of meal and menu selection. The service also excellent from all staff. If any pass by you must visit but reservation is strongly recommended.
Fantastic dishes, services, and contexts! All staff can speak in English and they are so nice. Some of restaurants in Gien have treated foreign visitors somehow in rude manners but they are different!
This place deserves the highest rating possible. It is within walking distance if you wish to stay in the local camp site but worth traveling to in order to experience food of the highest quality in preparation and presentation. Superb French service (but bring your phrase book if necessary) made the result one of the best meals we have had anywhere. As we have been fortunate to indulge in UK and overseas that means it is good!
