Bidra med feedbackWhen it was revealed to me that I would be dining here on Monday evening, I was rather excited.
What a swanky looking place! This was the first thing that hit me as i walked in was that the decor, lighting and arrangement of the area just said
Formerly a private members club, the Western Club Restaurant is now open to the public.
I had lunch today with my friend at this restaurant and we were very impressed. Unlike other recent reviews, we were warmly greeted by well-trained staff who were attentive throughout our meal. The food was superb and clearly cooked by experienced chefs. For starters, we both enjoyed a crispy egg on Stornoway black pudding. I was initially hesitant about the egg being crispy, but it turned out to be delicious. My friend had the fish of the day, which she said was fantastic, while I had the lamb served on lentils with a Harissa sauce, which was also delicious. We ended our meal with sticky toffee pudding and banana cake, both served with vanilla ice cream.
This place is located on the level 1 of the building that I almost skipped because it looked as if it were close to the outside. I'm glad I rang the bell and came in, probably the best bark wellington I've ever had. the suppe of the day and the filet see bass was also fantastic. Unfortunately, dessert was not so extraordinary. the service was top notch. it is expensive, but I bet they can expect that from such a central, ideal location. they would recommend if they plan for a proper restaurant experience in the city.
