Chao Phraya - Glasgow City

Went here for a lunchtime meal and the atmosphere, staff and food were excellent. our waitress (Aomie) was so friendly and welcoming to us. my mum's only blip was she got the wrong order for her main meal but was amended quickly which was nice.

We had booked for Glasgow Restaurant Week fixed price menu. The venue is lovely and has been excellent when I’ve been there before. Unfortunately the staff were not aware of this deal, after showing waitress booking email she still had to ask her manager. There were no fish cakes for starters, leaving only chicken or vegetarian option. Some of us were having chicken for the main course so we had to opt for spring rolls. The chicken main two of us ordered was tepid. Food was average, and disappointing for Chaophraya. We got the impression that we had second hand treatment because we booked a fixed price special offer. The ladies toilets were in a terrible state water on worktops; toilet paper all over the floor and cubicle floors; door locks not working; toilet big flush cover buttons missing (that’s insanitary! ; only one soap dispenser. Someone should have been checking the toilets hourly! We won’t be back

My daughter and myself are regular customers at Chaophraya. Last week, we enjoyed a lovely meal there. The prawn dish I had was absolutely wonderful and my daughter loved hers too! It was a delightful experience, with lovely staff too. Looking forward to our next visit which will be a birthday meal for my son in law and daughter at end of May. Thank you

Visited this restaurant several times within this last year however this time quality of food was poor. Starters appeared to vary from previous experience, tasting pretty much bland. Quality overall felt lesser than previous, service mediocre, and overall we were disappointed. Won't be rushing back. Shame, as venue and location is excellent.

Received vouchers and was very excited to try this place however upon arriving (after booking a month ago) we were sat in what can only be described as an overspill reception area. I was confused as it’s not how the place looked on social media. We waited over 20 minutes before a server took our drinks order (it had been that long that we ended up ordering food at the same time). Starters were nice but not very much for the price. We then waited over 40/50 minutes for food. The food arrived and the server said that they would get us some spoons. After over 5 minutes no one was back with spoons, we saw servers chatting and made eye contact and they looked embarrassed and went away and came back apologised and said there were no spoons and they were doing everything they could to find some. When the spoons arrived there was dried food on them, but after the time we had waited we just cleaned them with our napkin and started the meal. The food was good, but not groundbreaking and if it hadn’t been for the fact we had a voucher we would have begrudged paying as it was very expensive for what we had.
