Nicosia Kebab House - Glen Eira

Last weekend we decided to dine out at Turkish restaurant in our area. After a decent amount of research we settled on Nicosia kebab house . The service was friendly and food was of good quality and lots of it . Their bread was excellent. Now to something that spoiled our visit . The website was not updated for a very long time , because restaurant prices on their website and actual prices on the restaurant menu differ by about 20 % . Their prices are reasonable , but they have an unfair advantage over other restaurateurs who display correct prices at their websites. Zamato also display their old prices on they website. It needs to be rectified ASAP .

We love Turkish food but have to travel a long way to get it from the the Eastern Suburbs. Instead of attending one of our usual Turkish restaurants in Coburg, we believed the TA reviews & visited Nicosia for a change. We were underwhelmed with everything we ate. I am vegetarian & therefore usually stick to dips, salads, dolma & falafel. As a dip connoisseur, I have a lot of taste bud experience with Hummus, Babaganush, Cacik & Tahini, & these dips were bland, tasteless or odd (Tahini). There was no seasoning or garlic, & literally no flavour. The tabbouleh salad was chunky & not chopped finely enough to be pleasant, & there was no love in it. We specifically asked for everything to be served at once, but this was ignored, & my food came at least 10 minutes before my husband's meat platter, which was annoying. The one plus was the warm turkish bread, however it could have also done with a little salt, & is certainly no better than we have had elsewhere. The other major turn off was the presence of pre prepared food such as stuffed capsicums, which were just sitting in a cabinet. We like our food to be fresh, tasty, & prepared with love so this restaurant failed on many of these requirements in the dishes that we ordered. We definitely won't be back but that's because we know what good Turkish food tastes like, & this isn't it. It wasn't bad food, it just wasn't good enough for our tastes or our wallets. Its not cheap & we work hard for our money so we expect to enjoy an $80 meal more than we enjoyed this.

It has been around for ever...great tasting food as close to home cooking you can get & very reasonably priced. We go there often...what more can I say? ...it's a cosy casual family run business, the longgevity of the place says it all!

Many years visit this restaurant.Great atmosphere always full. Yammy food ,friendly,professional staff.good value.come to have ickender.dips,calamary and special turkish delight.I invite everybody to visit this great place .

Middle eastern deserts Beautifully garnished and well presented for $9 deserts outstanding. Cafe style eating. We booked to go back for a banquet in 6 weeks
