Panthers Glenbrook

A club bistro in Glenbrook that has reasonable meals if you enjoy a club surroundings. Not a large club but the usual club amenities are available.

I came here for a Christmas lunch hosted by the company for which I do volunteer work. It was specially catered lunch with two main meal options and two dessert options. I was randomly given the roast pork with crackling, which also had cold chunky apple sauce on the plate, and I think some sort of pureed potato stuff. The pork crackling was very, very salty and the pork itself not nice. The apple tasted slightly of meat which is just wrong, fruit and meat! It was too late to get a plate of the other option: a sausage wrapped inside some turkey which itself was wrapped in bacon, with a side of sweet and normal potato.Dessert was a dart fruit cake which looked an awful lot like chocolate cake on the outside but unfortunately it wasn't. I was able to try the other option, a mini pavlova piled with fruit and drenched in passionfruit sauce. I ate the inside part of it, as the only fruit I like are apples, pear, green grapes and banana and the pavlova had strawberries, kiwifruit and peach on it with the passionfruit sauce (I hate having picky taste buds sometimes).Having hardly eaten anything from the provided lunch, I ordered something from the cafe. I had the crumbed chicken wings with chips. The crumb on the chicken was good, the chicken itself a little dry. The serving is huge. Two people could share it.This is where I come to the great chips part: they were great! Crunchy and tasty.

If you're looking for something quick and easy, and not too expensive plus a place to take the family then Glenbrook Panthers will meet your needs. Meals are sometimes better than other times. Menu variety is ok. Staff are friendly and service is good.
