Leavened Bakery - Gold Beach

Mariah has made a wonderful bakery and her amazing recipes have people lined up to her window. I highly recommend you make a stop on your way through Gold Beach. Very worth it!

Wow!! What a gem. Almond pastrie was warm and wonderful. French press coffee. Off 2nd Street in residential area. Our puppy felt the relaxed vibe. Highly recommend.

Decent bakery but not what we were expecting from the reviews. The kouign-amann was more of a dough texture than a flaky layered pastry. The blackberry danish left a lot to be desired and I wouldn't have been able to distinguish it from what you'd get at a hotel breakfast. My wife got the almond pastry and the almond paste filling was delicious and she also got the sticky bun which she said wasn't memorable. Not a bakery we'll feel the need to come back to.

This in-home shop is a wonderful find! She is only open Wednesday-Friday and you need to get there before she runs out. The best deal is to buy bread and then walk down the street to get homemade soup at Old Agness Store and you have a perfect lunch. As you arrive, you walk up to the window where the baker greets you like sunshine. The available goodies are on a chalkboard so you can see just what is left. If you're lucky, you can buy everything!

Lovely service in a very modest setting. Best bread around.
