Bidra med feedbackHaving read the hype of "the best bahn mi in Adelaide" I was expecting more. It was pretty average and would not even cracked the top 10 in my hometown of Melbourne where I have eaten them all over the place as my job takes me to every shopping strip in the city. I had room left and went next door to Sushi Q which was fantastic and much more satisfying.
Small shop with limited seating. Small line up as it was lunch time but line moved fast. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about dietary requirements and ingredients. Unfortunately they had run out of vegetarian cold rolls and the Banh Mi rolls contained egg.
Too soggy. My roll was made without any care, ingredients just shoved into the buns and the bun shoved into the white packet. Not sure if it was due to their pate, but the bun became quite soggy, soaking through the white packet and causing a tear in the bottom half while i was eating. Sure it tasted pretty good but not enjoyable when the bun isn't crunchy. Their roast pork could also do with a bit more crunch to it. Also did not like seeing the mountain of buns resting against the wall very close to the wires.
GIVE ME ALL THE PICKLED CARROT AND DAIKON! Gosh, I love this spot.
I live round the corner and love having a place that does Vietnamese rolls so close by.
