Awaany Restaurant - Goshree Road

The interior cleanliness is average. The wait time for veg biriyani was long. The service could be improved by having more attentive waiters. The food quality is satisfactory. There are other hotels within the same price range that are cleaner and offer better food options. There is parking space for 6 cars outside the hotel. Overall, non-vegetarian dishes may be better than the vegetarian options available.

The food is mediocre. The service is lacking. There is a long wait for orders to be ready. Some dishes are too oily and occasionally not appetizing.

I was here with my friends, we ordered Kuzhimanthi . When we recieved the order we just shocked at the first view, it was not keeping the minimum quality for Kuzhimanthi . I can say it 's utter waste, we had tried the same from several hotels in...cochin and malabar. Even in cochin we had some good hotels were we got the same in better better way... when we tasted that we were totally disappointed, it 's first time we left Chicken and rice in our plates, I don 't know how to call that Kuzhimanthi, the service from the staff was also below average. I don 't recommend this to any one in my circle. It was really a waste of time...

During my evening visit, my opinion of the restaurant changed. I ordered Chicken Kuzhi Mandhi, chapathi, and chilly gobhi. The rice in the mandhi was well-cooked but the chicken was bland and tasteless. The chapathi was dry and hard. The chilly gobhi had very little cauliflower and mostly just fried batter in sauce. I am undecided on what rating to give this place, so I would rate it as average. I would like to visit again to see if my second experience was just an off day in the kitchen.

We have been to the Awaany many times, back during the time when it was Awaany Bakes Restaurant and when it was not an air conditioned facility. Today, it has changed a little. The premises have a/c and are generally neat. The service is...efficient and timely. The place can get a little busy during peak times. The prawns biryani is nice, while the kuzhimanthy (Arabian biryani) was just ok. We have had chicken kondattam before, and it was, again, ok. Traditional Kerala Meals used to be better in the older days. Do remember that rice and curry meals are not served on Sundays. One surprise was that there was no fish fry/curries available when we went last Sunday for lunch.... Located conveniently on the Seaport Airport road, this hotel has a good parking spread. Earlier, the bathroom used to be in a separate room outside the main hotel. Not sure if this is still the case now. One trademark is the nice rose lighting achieved by using light pink curtain blinds on the windows. This lends a nice reddish aura to the interiors.
