Bidra med feedbackI visited the restaurant at the Scandic Rubies hotel for an early dinner on a Thursday afternoon. Despite it being 4:30, I was surprised to receive a lunch menu with limited options such as a burger, salad, or shrimp sandwich. I decided to try the shrimp sandwich, but felt that the staff were more focused on promoting alcohol rather than the food. The sandwich was good, but much pricier compared to a similar one at a café across the street. It wasn't until another table received a different menu that I realized I had been given the wrong one. I also discovered that the restaurant is cashless and only accepts credit card payments.
We were a group of family members around 12 people) attending a concert in Gothenburg in July. We did not stay overnight at the hotel, but just popped in for a drink. We went to the roof top and were surprised that we found...space for all of us! Fantastic bar, quick service, good drinks, incredible view and good music. Lots of seating and also with some shade options. Stop by here for a drink during summer months!
We went to the rooftop bar to have a few drinks. Got very dissappointed when the bartender was making the drinks. Filling up the glasses with crushed ice up to the top so there was hardly no room left for the drink. So we paid...a lot of money for only ice. Will not go back!
Good food cozy envrioment. Not a big menu but enough. Taken steak tartare but the way how it was prepared is completly different as other places. I loved it, my colleagues not. Proven again that taste is something personal
Ruby Bar (in Scandic Rubinen hotel) used to offer open buffet lunch on weekdays which was served on the second floor (it suited the many people who were there for seminars, conferences and job workshops). The lunch was tasteless. However, the a la carte menu...on Saturdays and in the summer (when there is no open buffet lunch) was good. That is why I wrote a review in July 2016 saying: Good a la carte food, but avoid their open buffet lunch on weekdays Now I discovered that Ruby Bar offers lunch on a plate on the ground floor (while retaining the open buffet lunch for people attending conferences on the 2nd floor). I was excited thinking that I could now enjoy their lunch of the day on a plate instead of the tasteless open buffet food. But I was wrong. I went yesterday, 20 October, for lunch. I ordered the haddock fish dish. The dish was tasteless. The fish came with a bland cold sauce, crushed boiled potatoes AND three sun-dried tomatoes!! I was really shocked at the carelessness of the chef. What was the chef thinking when he/she laid three sun-dried tomatoes in a warm dish? I took a mixture of salad from the open salad buffet and took a few olives and two garlic from one of the plates. However, the garlic was crunchy, raw and very strong!! (this made me smell of garlic -without me knowing- until I went home later in the evening)!! Then I took the small cake which was offered with the lunch. When I took a bite of the cake and started to chew it I realised it was so tastless and had a strange texture that it was not worth swallowing and so I spitted it out. Later I told the waitress: give my regards to the chef and say to him/her you don't put sun-dried tomatoes in a warm dish. One would expect more than this! . I definately do not recommend eating in Ruby Bar. There are other very good, nearby restaurants offering lunch e.g Tvåkanten Mr P at PARK and Brasserie Lipp (and all for a lower price).
