Roam By San Chez - Grand Rapids

I absolutely love the atmosphere and artistic design of this restaurant! The wait staff was excellent, and the food options were delicious, making it tough to pick just one dish to try. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals immensely. This was our first visit to Roam while attending a RE/MAX conference, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Food: 5/5.

Most of the dishes have a certain level of spiciness, even if they aren't labeled as spicy, so those who are sensitive to heat might want to inquire before placing an order. I had the bao filled with kimchi, and it was absolutely delicious! The kimchi didn’t have any off-putting odor but packed just the right amount of heat. It was also the ideal size for dinner! Our food arrived fairly quickly after we ordered, and no one seemed to have any complaints. The tables are quite small, so it’s a good idea to call ahead if you have more than four people so they can arrange tables accordingly. The service was excellent.

I went for Sunday brunch, it was our first time there. I love the theme of travel and having yummy food from multiple international and national places. We got three things and each one was yummy! I'd recommend getting the French toast for brunch, so good! I also loved that they have a number of non alcoholic drinks that I could enjoy early in the morning. It's a fun place to plan your next vacation! It's a little pricey but we were celebrating our anniversary, so worth it for us! For two drinks and three entrees and a 20% tip we spend about $80.

Stopped in with a friend late afternoon for a belated birthday hang. Friendly service, bright interior, good drinks, food was a hit and a miss. Menu looked great and tacos were excellent (1 chicken, 1 tofu) but I had the handheld special which was described as “tofu gyros” it came and was a pretty flavorless thick, wet slab of tofu on a bun (see pic). The server was courteous about asking how it was and we talked jovially (I wasn’t a jerk) but I sent half back at the end saying I didn’t care for it (the food itself or the inaccurate description). No harm done but I would’ve hoped to have it at least discounted a bit but I was charged full price. I’ll give them another shot, I love san chez but on this outing I was disappointed (server was very congenial though).

First time in Grand Rapids, had s great experience at Roam. Russ and The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful with picking Vegan/Vegetarians options. The good was amazing and the coffee was delicious. Definitely 5Food: 5/5
