The W On Elm - Greensboro

The menu needs to be more special. The restaurant could be great but the menu and wine list definitely need to be worked on. The server was very nice but knew very little about the wine list. The interior was designed well.

We were seated at a temporary indoor table that was meant for outdoor use, covered with a tablecloth. The candle kept sliding to the center of the table. The menu was limited, and our server seemed overwhelmed with too many tables to handle. The sea bass was tasty but the portion was quite small. Additionally, my drink was served in a plastic cup.

Thinking of going to The W on Elm? Think again....Our friend says, I think The W stands for WTF. Overcooked food served cold, smoke billowing from the kitchen (we all smell like scorched food), anemic excuse for a bar, inexperienced staff, forgotten sides and drinks, incorrect overcharges on checks, forty minutes to correct mistakes on checks, filthy men 's room....need I go on?

I was initially hesitant to go through with this reservation due to a number of negative reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. Our dinner was fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was delightful with jazz playing softly in the background. I ordered the burger and fries along with a deviled egg starter, while my date opted for the simple spaghetti. Everything was well-prepared and we even took a little something home with us. It was a wonderful experience, and I definitely want to return.

Fast seating, service was not good. had to constantly ask for fillings, 6 of the 12 people in our group had to send items back to the kitchen. it didn't feel like our group wanted. will not be back.
