Bidra med feedbackThe dishes were greasy, stale, and bland. The green beans, which should be crispy and well-seasoned with a light drizzle of oil, were instead drenched in a sauce and paired with overcooked broccoli. My noodles looked just like noodles—there was no rice noodle option—and the spring rolls tasted off, while the shrimp had a strong fishy flavor, as if they had just come out of a bag. The desserts were overly dry and absorbed other flavors, and the ice cream was more like frozen milk. I had anticipated sushi and hibachi grill options but found no eel or eel sauce. I had to ask for soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi, which was frustrating. The overall quality of the food barely rated a 2, and the prices were unreasonable considering the lack of freshness and quality; there were no unique dishes, decent hibachi grill, or quality sushi. To make matters worse, the restaurant's signage was dim, and half of the outside lights were out. I should have realized it would be bad when I saw a young girl on her phone by the popcorn machine—yes, popcorn in a Chinese restaurant. On a positive note, my waitress was good and attentive, and the Dr. Pepper was the highlight of the meal. However, I witnessed one of the workers placing the tea container on the floor to clean it, which made me feel ill on the way home. I woke up feeling unwell this morning.
I was charged $15 for this. The ?hibachi? meat tastes like liver. I was told my price was so much because I got shrimp and sushi. I literally had a spoon of shrimp and two pieces of sushi. The weight of my plate was 1.58 lbs. she charged me for 2 lbs vs 1.58. Just go somewhere else. The food isn?t even fresh or good.
Wow, where do I begin? Coming from Washington, where there's a large population of Chinese Americans and delicious Chinese American food, I had high expectations for this place. Unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed. The floors and tables were sticky, which made dining uncomfortable. The food lacked flavor and seasoning (hard to believe, right?), and there was very little variety on the menu. It seemed like everything was just either overcooked or garnished poorly. I didn’t even dare to try the sushi or the questionable dishes. I don’t think I’ll be returning; I’ll be heading to Plano for some more flavorful Asian cuisine.
I really enjoy going to Buffet Palace, mainly, because of the food and customer service. Now even though I enjoy their food, it is a tad bid on the expensive side for me, only because I don't think it's worth $15.
It's hard to find a restaurant that serves good Chinese food when we go out of town and we actually found one today! They had all my favorites. The Crab Rangoon lacked the crunch but it was still good. My only complaint was that they acted stingy with the Spicy Mayonnaise sauce that goes on the Sushi. We didn't find it and I had to ask for it. Once for me and the second time for my kids. The lady waited for us to get some and then put it away. I guess I'm just used to Chinese Restaurants having it on hand near the Sushi. One interesting thing was that they had nuggets that look the nuggets from McDonald's. We were totally stuffed but HAD to taste them. Sure enough, they tasted the ones from McDonald's:D
