Bidra med feedbackHaven't ever visited this location of the Capri's Italian restaurant. We just moved to this area about a year ago and have not thought about trying it out . We had eaten at other Capri's restaurants in Anderson when they were still open and the one inEasley but never the one in Greenwood. We were greeted with a smile when we entered, promptly given menus, and our drink orderswere taken. Madison, our server, was very friendly and hospitable to us and her other customers. She was mature and confidentin the job she was doing and definitely an asset to the restaurant. She really took great care of us. I had the baked pastawhich is customizable. I ordered mine with Angel hair pasta and marinara sauce. They even covered it with pepperoni before theytopped it off with a thick layer of 3 blend Italian cheeses. It was delicious and plentiful. I have enough leftovers for 2more meals. My husband had the spinach salad with blackened salmon. The previous night at another local restaurant, he hadeaten a spinach salad with blackened salmon. The cost of that salad was twice as much and wasn't worth eating in his opinion. Capri's spinach salad with salmon, according to my husband, was far better than the previous restaurant which cost a lot moreand the service was horrible. He had no leftovers on his plate to take home I don't know if this is the situation every nightat Capris but on Saturday night when we visited, they were offering $2 desserts with a choice of cheesecake, Tiramisu, key limepie, or shortbread. The dessert size was plenty for an individual versus paying $7 for a slightly bigger piece to share withsomeone else. He had the Tiramisu and I had the cheesecake drizzled with blackberry sauce and cool whip on the side. They were anice finale to a great meal. He and I both highly recommend eating at Capri's and we won't be waiting another year to try itagain. Maybe another week but definitely not another year.
I have heard about this place for decades. My better half absolutely loves it. I... Do not. The food is OK usually. We went twice during our recent visit to SC. The first time I ordered chicken Parm. It tasted good but was somewhat soggy. The secondtime I ordered the flat iron sirloin. I ate one bite and cut the rest up to take home to my dogs. It tasted like fish ratherthan beef. However the Cesar salad I got was possibly the most delicious salad ever created. She typically gets the lasagna. Itis pretty good. Not as spectacular as she thinks it is but I wouldn't turn it down if offered. The staff is fantastic. Theatmosphere is appropriate. It is perfectly acceptable but nothing overly spectacular.
I’ve always believed that if a restaurant isn’t making enough profit from its food, the solution is to raise prices—not to cut back on quality. Unfortunately, Capri's has been on a steady decline over the past few years. While I can’t say for certain, it seems to me that the entrees have been frozen and then reheated. The quality is decent, but the portion sizes are now only 25% of what they used to be and what you’d find at good Italian restaurants in other cities. Sure, I might pay more for Veal Parmigiana in Greenville, but at least I leave feeling satisfied. One of the worst meals I've had was a dish advertised as being topped with pesto, which turned out to be made from dried parsley. On another occasion, I ordered a New York Strip that had an inch of fat running through the center...
We ordered the Ribeye Steak sandwich, lasagna, and chicken strips. Unfortunately, the ribeye was dry and over-seasoned, and the bread was roasted too hard. The cheese on the lasagna was undercooked, so I had to put it in the oven when I got home. The lasagna itself was also quite sour and greasy. The chicken strips and the homemade honey mustard were edible, but the fries that came with the meal were burnt to a crisp—my son couldn't even eat any of them. We ended up having cereal for dinner. This is my second visit to this restaurant, and once again, I am disappointed.
The interior is charming and cozy. However, the pasta was a bit overcooked.
