St. Orres - Gualala

This place has a healing Element to it. If you wish to disconnect from hustle and bustle, this is the place for you! The property is stunning. The cabins are gorgeous and made with such mindfulness. For example, the Jacuzzi tub in the black chanterelle has a window that faces the ocean. You can look out while relaxing in jetted luxury. The private sauna is absolutely divine. The Restaurant made me want to eat there every night I stayed. The food is phenomenal; the presentation is art. I have vacation here several times and never been disappointed. High quality luxury and rustic experience at the same time.

When all the entrees are $60, you expect great service. The service was at best adequate. I had the scallop entree and got 3 scallops. You are charged $5 for bread. So while the food was tasty and the ambiance unique, I would not recommend this place for dinner. Maybe come for a drink, but we sat in the bar for 10 minutes before dinner and no one came by to take a drink order.

This spot is our family's favorite to visit on the California coast. The cabins are so cozy and have this artsy romantic vibe, and you can get a lot of privacy while still enjoying the view of the ocean right out your front window. But one of the best things is the breakfast they bring you in a little wooden box every morning, we talk about it all year. And if you stay there splurge on a dinner at the amazing restaurant in the main lodge, it's an experience of its own.

The dinner here was excuisite!! The chef is outstanding!! We were on the Harley on our vacation and seen the unique building. We pulled in thinking, we are not dressed for fine dining. But the staff was very welcoming and friendly! The salmon with saffron sauce was awesome and my partner had the duck which she said was delicious! We will be back to stay here and eat here!

A gem find where you are greeted like long lost friends. There is ample space to eat outside enjoying the view, cozy Meal in the bar area or in the main dining area complete. The fixed price main menu is all about protein (all good) choice including game (recommend the venison). All dishes include a healthy portion of potatoes ?. Dining companions enjoyed the desserts. Decent wine selection with full bar. Highly recommend!
