Agriturismo Sant'angelo - GUBBIO

My husband and I rented the nearby castle for our wedding and the caretakers recommend Agriturismo Sant'Angelo for dinner the night before the celebration. We couldn't have been happier with our experience. The owners were the friendliest we met in our trip and the food was so good, even the Italian half of our wedding guest agreed Agriturismo Sant'Angelo knew what they were doing. Venison, wild boar, truffle, endless wine and beer, the best carbonera (this was agreed by my Roman husband and my picky father who usually only likes Chinese food), the food kept coming and in the end after coffee was served we were amazed by how little our pre-wedding feast cost for our large group. After the wedding was over my husband and I agreed that our meal here was better than the food at our wedding (that's not to say the food at the wedding was bad, but the food here was really THAT amazing). Even our guest raved nonstop about the food here and wished they made more room in their stomachs for a second, third, fourth serving of just about everything!

A wonderful meal and a real feast with great wine and friendly service. We went with two 2 year olds and 10 month year old and they were made welcome. No need to order for the children as they had some of our ample portions. A real experience of eating simple food which tasted absolutely great. Definitely worth a visit but don't eat all day beforehand.

The owners of this Agriturismo couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating. The food was delicious and just like you imagine a traditional Italian meal in the countryside. Course after course of beautiful food, great house wine and a warm and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
