Shrimp Basket Gulfport

The fried food we ordered was delicious food and our waitress was very fast and friendly! We originally stopped for lunch because they had oysters in their name and believed my wife. Unfortunately they were from oysters, but the shrimps we ordered were delicious!

My uncle mentioned that his shrimp were excellent. We were at the Shrimp Basket in Gulfport, MS. We were seated right away, and our server, Michelle, was friendly and attentive, just like the rest of the staff. She quickly brought our drinks and helped with menu recommendations. My uncle ordered the popcorn shrimp basket, while I opted for the Clam Jam. There was so much food that we ended up taking some home. We've dined here frequently and have never been let down. The staff here is very friendly, and the prices are reasonable. However, the food was just mediocre. The steamed shrimp were difficult to peel and tasted dry, which suggested they might be past their prime. As for the catfish and flounder fillets, they were more like strips than proper fillets. If I find myself in the area again, I might give it another shot.

I ordered crab cakes, but what I received was a poor imitation. When I expressed my disappointment to the manager, stating that I didn't expect imitation crab meat, she explained that they come pre-packaged and added that if I were at another restaurant, it would likely cost much more. This has nothing to do with the pricing—it’s about what you're serving. I also mentioned that I found the fried green tomatoes slightly burned, and the manager didn’t offer an apology or make it right. I then ordered a shrimp basket with okra, but the manager instead delivered a shrimp basket with fries. In the end, I decided to eat the white fish and placed a piece in the basket, only to be told it was fine and she would just throw it away. I would have preferred a proper order of okra instead. When she finally brought out my order, it included smaller, poorly cooked shrimp. I broke a few in half to show them, and unfortunately, I only received five overcooked shrimp. It’s unclear how many mistakes were made with my order. This manager clearly lacks professionalism and leadership skills, showing no concern for the restaurant's reputation or growth. Overall, this experience left a lot to be desired, and the food unfortunately didn't match the pictures on the menu.

Oh my goodness! Second time at this Shrimp Basket! We love it! ?? I had the shrimp and grits and yum!!!! Hubby had popcorn shrimp basket! For a starter we had the 1/2 lb steamed shrimp! Everything was great! And Michelle made sure we were enjoying our meal and well taken care of! The Shrimp Basket is always a go to for us when we are in the area! Wonderful Service and Food! A big shout out to the cooks too!
