Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - Gurnee

Their chicken is very greasy and have no flavor. I ordered spicy chicken in 2 separate occasions and they tasted like their bland mild. Today, I ordered just a large Cajun rice and it was only filled fluffily 3/4 full and it tastes bland, like nastywhite rice. My gosh, the worst Popeyes branch I've ever encountered and I tried to give them a few tries because they are closeby, but seriously bad everytime. Calling and reaching anyone for issues is also non-existent.

The Customer service through drive thru is not good. Very short and does not allow you to speak. They want to finish quickly and are rude in their approach. Also the orders I place always have less product. Today I had two large side orders of Fries andit was barely enough for one in two boxes. This is the Gurnee site. It's a new location and always something wrong here. Thereis system issues with no credit card accepted at times. Also there is delays on food orders way too long. And you can't orderin the app for this location either. They have no vetting of employees or are not trained correctly as well. I don't have anyissues in the Round lake IL. Popeyes. This is not good as it takes attention and proper communication to make customers comeback. But let's get the order right and then it's a better customer experience. This is not the place for this. I love Popeyesbut not this location.

When we visited on November 20, 2022, at 5:30 PM, the only option available was crispy chicken. It seemed that they started cooking the chicken only after a crowd of customers arrived. As a result, our orders took a lengthy 30 minutes to be served! While the dining room was comfortably warm, the restrooms felt like freezers. It's not common for women to urinate standing up, and the toilet seats were freezing cold, just like the rest of the restroom. Additionally, only cold water was available for handwashing. Popeyes really needs to address these issues at this location.

The restaurant doesn't seem to be well-managed. I placed my order inside and noticed car after car being served in the drive-thru. A guy came from the back to take my order and then returned to prepare the chicken. I ended up waiting an eternity for my food. Eventually, he came back and filled my order. However, when I got home, the three chicken sandwiches had buns that were so toasted they crumbled at the touch. The sides were alright, but the sandwiches clearly had been sitting around for too long. The guy from the back deserves a raise—he's the only one who seems to know how to hustle.

The chicken is fantastic and the customer service is outstanding. There's ample parking available, and the drive-thru is ideal for a quick pickup.
