Well we fancied some suya and Peckham was too far so stopped here The service was great with really friendly staff. The food was not the best I've had and it was the most expensive . £10 for a small plastic bowl of suya The meat was not fresh and it was super dry . The suya powder was sprinkled on to the rather tired meat with a few onion rings and soggy tomatoes for good measure . I was really disappointed. This restaurant should consider reviewing their prices Customers keep u open and nobody likes to be taken for a ride even if I have the money to burn . It's outrageous to think you can charge that much and then not make the effort. This is certainly not good value for money
I just want to say that the waitress was incredibly attentive and kind, which made the experience very enjoyable. The stew was delicious and the fried plantains were perfect, but I found the chicken to be a bit tough. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would definitely come back again.
I met up with an old friend for a drink and catch up at Eko, a casual Nigerian bar and restaurant in Hackney. We each ordered a plate of Asun, mine with a side of Moi Moi and his with fried yam. Asun is grilled smoked goat meat with a hot and tasty pepper sauce, raw tomatoes, and onions. Moi Moi is made from ground black eye beans and steamed with small pieces of fish. The food was delicious, with Asun priced at £10, Moi Moi and fried yam at £3 each, and my Star beer at £4. The service provided by the waitress was excellent, and I will definitely be returning soon.
Great food, excellent and friendly service from the proprietors. The personal touch by the proprietors is exemplary.
