Cocoro - Hakone

The food is absolutely fantastic, crispy pork cutlet, juciy tender chicken and a curry sauce to die for. Dinner for two was less than ¥5000. Highly recommended the plum wine too.

I've always loved curry so coming here was an easy choice. Curry served still bubbling in a skillet on the side of rice and fried cutlet. Curry was very bold and strong flavor, not too spicy (spice is served on the side to add if you want). Mouth is watering just writing this review!

Good japanese curry, not spicy at all. My family got attracted to this restaurant by the curry smell. Around 1700 per person, a bit expensive but we in tourist area.

Friendly service, cute interior and reasonably tasty food, but I was disappointed with a couple of things. Firstly, we had a glass of umeshu but it had maybe a shot of umeshu in it, hardly a couple of gulps worth. For ¥600 this was very disappointing and we wouldn’t have ordered if we had known. Secondly it was extremely hot in the building, there was a fan but it wasn’t very strong. Finally it was just quite expensive, but it is a very touristy area so this may be unavoidable.

Came here with my friends after seeing the good reviews.. does not disappoint!!! They were gracious enough to host us even though we arrived a bit after last order. Kind staff and the curry was the best I’ve ever had!! Had the coco special and would definitely recommend onsen egg and soft boiled pork in the curry with the perfect amount of fat and tenderness. The pork cutlet was crunchy and portion size was very very good for the price. Love that they give you healthier purple grain rice which tastes good for soaking up curry sauce. My friend had the vegetable version which was just as tasty. A very wholesome and healing meal to have in Hakone during winter. Might be a bit pricier compared to other curry houses but really worth every penny and you definitely get a lot for what you pay. 100% recommend!
