La Cucina Cafe Halifax

Our reservation was made ahead of time. Which is a good thing and so easy to do online. The waitress was lovely. However The food was just OK! The risotto ball were cold and bland. There was absolutely no taste of squash. I had the stuff chicken with spinach. It was very good but small and pricey. There was only two small pieces of chicken. It was mostly gnocchi. Which was good but the value was not there. The best part was the staff. Ambiance was good for casual dining. Probably would not go again. There are other Italian restaurants in the same price range with better food. Sorry.

We were very graciously received even though, although we had a booking through 'Open Table ', La Cucina had not been informed of our booking. However, the service, as always, was very good and the food excellent. They go out of their way to accommodate your special requests even to bringing your own 'Special Occasion ' celebration cake.

We had a very enjoyable lunch at La Cucina. Our server was very attentive and when we mentioned we'd share the warm spinach salad he offered to put it on two plates for us. I had the seafood soup which was good as always though a tad heavy on the chilis and my husband enjoyed his pizza very much. We always enjoy coming here. Nice to have a good restaurant close to home!

At first, they had no idea of my reservation that I had a confirmation. The girl really said it? I wasn't told. It was a reservation for 7 for a birthday that I had also made a special request with my reservation, which obviously had no idea so that it did not happen. We arrived at 4:30, waiting for them to set up a table for 7. 15 minutes waiting to be asked what we wanted for drinks that was water... it took 15 minutes to get this to us. We weren't offered a bread that they usually do... she says, okay, I'll ask if I'll get you something. We ordered 3 appetizers... it took up to 5:30 a.m. (1 hour after arrival) to get them. They were cold and terrible. We waited 30 minutes until our meals arrived... now 6:00, we were here 1.5 hours and just got our meal. The meal comes, and 1 small bread for 7 people. I've got an 11-month we're gonna stop eating so long and 6 angry others. Meals were cold and not pleasant or worth the money. It cost us 243.00 and the food and service was terrible. Will NIE go back there or recommend to others.
