Cove Tavern - HALLETT COVE

Have eaten here many times as it's our "local" and we want to try to support local business but after tonight's meals we will not be returning, one too many average meals for us. Would rather drive further for a decent meal.

Missing an outside area, so many hotels have been done up but not this place, food nice but really dont go much as no atmosphere, like dining in a cafeteria, really needs outdoor space (maybe go up, to capture the views) because of this we really go out of the area and go elsewhere. Also if you go at lunch time they have one poor server on expected to serve all the food, drinks, take orders etc etc management seem a bit tight not putting on enough staff, used to go with my mum quite often but really like slave labour management dont care!!

This was a nice meal, good pub food and friendly staff. There is a well stocked salad and veggie bar. Some items on the menu are restaurant quality. A great place to take the family.

The service was top notch but the food was only average. The veggie and salad bar needs a bit of an upgrade as veggies looked dried out and not much variety in salad bar. My club sandwich would have been better with the chicken cut up instead of in one large lump. My hubby's roast beef was a bit overcooked but a very generous serve and nice gravy...just no nice veggies to go with it. We did like the senior's menu and will try again later in the year.

The waiting staff were very attentive and friendly. The serving size was large and the food very tasty. This was our first visit here but won't be the last.
