Bidra med feedbackAwesome wine bar with small dishes to eat. Stumbled into this place with a friend who said he'd often walked by but never went in. From the outside it seems...
It is a nice little restaurant hidden in the neighborhood close to Altona station. The food is good as well as the service. I think it is worth to go and try it.
I've been invited there by a friend who lives in Ottensen and very proud of every inch in that authentic Hamburg neighborhood. Our food experience there certainly added to his pride! This cosy small restaurant is open since 1919 and offers true local cuisine with a North Germany twist: fish, lamb, venison or rabbit.I went for a pasta with minced lamb and sautéed very slim aubergine slices in a tomato-bell pepper sauce. My German friends had a fish soup with rouille (similar to Marseille's bouillabaisse). All was delicious, paired with a local house red wine.Dessert was Castalane with chocolate sauce. The price is moderate for such quality. I highly recommend this place if you're in visit to Hamburg and want to experiment true local flavors.
Next to the very good wine selection, which is dominated by north-European wines, they serve excellent food. The wine bar has a very cozy athmosphere and the first floor restaurant is stylish, but not posh. VERY well done!
Great athmosphere, food and service. Don't speak German? Don't get put off by the indecipherable menu, just ask the friendly waiter. Great place for a cold winter night. Very cosy, all wood around you. Food was excellent, we had deer bourguignon, fish dish followed by a cheese German cheese platter. All very tasty. I would strongly recommend it
