1010 Bistro - Hamilton

I recently went to this restaurant for a dinner party with my colleagues and had a fantastic time! The only downside was the deception that occurred during our visit.

Be cautious and avoid this restaurant for your Christmas party or large gathering. We had a party with 20 people last night and the menus and wine were predetermined.

We had a fantastic dinner! The ambiance was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the food was interesting and delicious. We started with homemade bread and garlic hummus, which was fresh and tasty.

I booked a table for 17 people to celebrate my wife's BD. We where treated like gold !!! A seprate area was set up and the tables in a U shape...perfect They let us bring in a cake. The food was way above average. Prices were what you would expect from fine dining. Service was excellent. The calamari appetizer was one excellent. there where many different orders around the table and everyone loved it all !!! The seafood pasta was homemade and fresh. My dish was bison ribs...simply amazing, sooo tender. Everyone was happy with their food orders no complaints about the food. One thing that did happen it was clearly put on our bills that an 18% tip was added and many of us left a tip so the staff got double. I paid for the bar bill for all. Then left a $100 tip not knowing the restaurant already added $106 to the bill. I would of worried about a smaller tip but $100 is hard earned by me. I called 3 times .and left msgs on what happened but no return calls. when booking the event they called back immediately. I guess they need the money. For this reason we will give a poor service rating and not recommend or go back to the 1010 Bistro.

This restaurant has been around for many years in Westdale. I haven't been in probably 10 years. The food was above average. Prices were what you would expect from fine dining. We went for a lunch meeting. There were eight of us and because it was a business meeting we were seated downstairs for privacy. Nice touch. Service was excellent. I would very much like to return to try other menu items. The calamari appetizer was one of the best I've had however it did smell like fish. I had the seafood pasta. I'm not certain but the pasta tasted homemade and fresh. Everyone was happy with their food orders no complaints.
