The first time the BW Carmen C in Hamilton. Previous flight the next morning, so I decided to have an earlier dinner. Baci opened 4 pm we stayed there without reservation 4:45 pm. Another couple in the restaurant. We were immediately believed that we could have a table by 6:00. Good enough. It was a scorcher one day served ice water without asking, big. A small wingless bug fell from the ceiling on our table. I tortured it with my menu. When the server arrived for our beverage order, I reported the incident. She told me she would get a napkin to clean the bugs. I asked if the table top was wiped off properly. My wife, I laughed at how unchalant her answer was. At the same time we were a little bugged, but no other unwanted visitors arrived. Instead of deleting the table immediately, our server went to the next table of 6 waiting for it. Our wine arrived with another server, but before he put it down, I explained what happened, asked him to clean the bug. He did this right away for his credit. We had 2 Caesars who arrived without straw in a high glass. I thought that would be weird if the napkin had corrected, but decided to slow it down. At this point I have a hard time to see the 4.8 Trip Advisor review that I had seen. Main course is coming. The fatuccine Alfredo Polo is good, but the beef peppermint fillet is bland. The fillet is served medallion style, which is okay, but was unexpected. After we're in our meal, bread arrives, the timing is again strange for us. Did the napkin forget to bring her back earlier? The restaurant is small, the lighting was sufficient. Our table for 2 was tight, but reasonable. Baci seems to meet special events, but the groups on this day were good behavior. Bottom line, overall disappointing, but the staff was friendly.
We loved the interior, the atmosphere, the service and the food. All three appetizers were delicious, the special of the day the Lamb Shank was perfect and the desserts very yummy. Chris, our server was friendly, professional and entertaining. Great Experience.
I had the worst experience at Baci. I was looking so forward to trying this restaurant and it went from bad to worst. I think the worst part of my experience was rather than writing a review I called the restaurant to explain my dissatisfaction,...I was told the manager would call back, and no one did... This to me speaks volumes to me. My dinner started with 2 members of my party ordering Gnocchi. We were told they ran out? There are 3 entries with Gnocchi on their menu and they had run out of this pasta. We then proceeded to ordered a glass of Pasico wine... They ran out? There was 1.5 staff waiting on tables for the entire restaurant. Not enough staff at all We finally ordered our appetizers, but unfortunately our order was missed and not submitted to the kitchen.... we had to ask where our order was. The waiter came by and filled our glasses with water. Instead of pouring above the glass he rested the spout on ever glass and on every other used glass in the restaurant from every other customer. This spout touch every glass in the restaurant. The meal finally came which was very enjoyable. We asked for Coffee at the end of our meal, and of course, they forgot. I had to go to the bar and ask again. The bill finally came and I saw a charge I did not recognize. It turned out that they accidently charged me for another entre. We finally left after almost 2 hours I was quite disappointed. A real shame.
A hidden treasure in the Carmens hotel. Food is excellent, service attentive and personal. My third time at this restaurant. Eggplant and lentil pasta was delicious and so was the spaghetti carbonara. Olive oil cake is a must try as it’s a little different and...all made in house. Pricing is fair. I love it.
